Labas! Yesterday we took a taxi to the car rental place which was good because I'm pretty sure we never would have found it otherwise! Their website was very sophisticated with about 20 cars to choose from and optional GPS units were available. KC ordered the car online, but when the guy called back all he had was 2 cars and a "we can probably do that" for the GPS. So started our adventure. Once we figured out the GPS we were very grateful to have it ... otherwise we might have ended up at the Russian front! Getting out of the city was a bit tricky and we found out just how bad the girls' motion sickness is ... poor Kornita! KC had given Audruta a Dramamine which helped her so she was fine. We asked if they wanted to go back to the apartment, but Kornita was feeling a bit better and wanted to keep going.
There was a festival going on a the castle ... demonstrations of old trades and knight fights. It was pretty fun! Kornita got her picture drawn and we bought her a traditional headpiece ... a little princess! She is so cute! I have a feeling that Audruta is trying to be careful about us spending too much money on her ... or maybe she just didn't see anything that she liked ... who knows! We stayed at the festival for a few hours and then headed back to the car. KC showed the girls how far the seaside was on the map and it was decided that we would go back to the apartment. It was a good choice ... it's no fun being carsick!
Once we were back, we went for a walk to see if the pharmacy was open and if they had motion sickness meds. On the way we past the town square where they were having a concert of traditional singing, complete with traditional clothing. Unfortunately, we didn't have the camera with us, but we stayed and watched for awhile. Then it was to the Double Coffee for dinner! Yes! I got my mocha and it was wonderful! Ha ha!
We were all pretty tired and went to bed a bit earlier than usual. Audruta and I both slept in a bit later too! ;) So today, after having breakfast at around 11:30 (a scrambled egg, potato & ham mix that they weren't too sure of at first), we decided to walk up to the Hill of 3 Crosses. The hike was pretty steep, but the view overlooking Old Town was great! Once we were back down, we got some ice-cream and played a little frisbee in the park. The park is quite large and has lots of trees. There were tons of people out for a Sunday stroll.
I think we are all a bit weary of not being in our normal routines, so we came back to the apartment to just hang out and do some laundry. After awhile we taught the girls how to play "Fill or Bust". They liked it very much and they are both pretty competitive. KC is making tacos for dinner ... we brought taco seasoning packets from home! Ah, smells good!
Please keep the girls in your prayers as they (especially Audruta) have an impossible decision to make in the next couple of days. I cannot imagine leaving everything and everyone I know behind to go with people who are practically strangers to a place I know little about. It's got to be tough.
Good night!
Michele

Hi Michele, KC, Audrone and Kornelija,
Loved seeing the new photos and reading about your trip. Kornelija really does look like a little princess. I am sure your agent and lawyer have briefed you well on the court hearing. I found it esier to have my responses written ( I did it the night before) Chris spoke from the hip, he's used to the whole court thing. That said even he stumbled on some of the 'strange' questions we were asked. Like ' How would the girls cope in a country with fires and floods? and what did he think of the economic crisis?' Everyone told us it was a done deal and to enjoy it, I simply couldn't it was too over whelming so I was lad for my notes. The girls waited outsie and were spoken to by the judge in private he cleared the court of everyone. He even had Evie sitting on hid knee just made it an informal chat or trid to, the girls knew why they were there and what was going to be asked of them.
Also, we arrived early and calmed ourselves in the coffee shop at the court. Its in the back left hand corner, bottom floor just a door in the wall that opens into a huge coffee shop- we nearly missed it.
I laugh every time I hear you mention Double Coffee or Duff Coffee as the girls called it..would have been lost without it!
Blessings,
Team Siffy
PS We have a new blog of our life since returning home thought the your girls might like to look at it? http://teamsiffy1.blogspot.com
Hi! Everybody. Michele, I bet you really enjoyed the castle etc. You always loved that sort of thing when you were in school Little did you know you'd actually be able to see one in action. I've tried to call a couple times and left a message on the Skype deal. Not sure how that all works. No big deal. I tried to find Team Sniffy's blog, but couldn't. Would love to see their girls. Lot's of people here are praying for all four of you. I found a verse I marked in my Bible years ago. Isaiah 42:16. Thought of the girls. Look at the verses that are in your ring. Isaiah 41:10-13. It still holds true. I love you!! Mom M
You are in our thoughts and prayers! Auntie Chele, we'll miss you at the Fair today!

Was happy to read the updates and see the pictures of the girls. They are so beautiful. Will be praying for you all. It is a tough decision for them, but God has them in his hands and will help them through this. Enjoy continuing to get to know each other. Many blessings, Carolyn Norkus
Michele & KC - I'm so sorry to hear the girls are questioning their decision. Kornita looks so happy with you two, and I think it would break her heart not to have you as her parents. I wonder if Audrone is comparing you to her good memories of her parents. I don't know if they were wonderful parents or not, but we tend to remember things in a much better light once people are gone. It's a hard thing to compete with. I hope you feel God's presence, as well as all your friends, with you during court & receive a wonderful blessing. I will be praying for you four every chance I get today.
Hi Michelle and KC. I am following your adventure here. Brings tears to my eyes. YOu are such courageous, loving people it takes my breath away.
